Is the US Welfare dept. really that stupid as to give someone who is here illegally benefits?

People seem to think that illegal aliens are easily afforded welfare and housing, but I don"t think our government is inept or easily fooled with fake ID's. I wonder what really the numbers are or the toll these illegals take from the gov. Illegals from Laos, Thailand Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.
