Insurance is pricy, and you'll need a new suit every 10 years or so. As for the cost of the marina, I can't say, as it depends on which marina you go to, most will have a website where you can e-mail or call. You don't need a liscence, but you will need to register it every year. If you don't want to keep your boat at a marina, then you can buy a mooring from a yacht club and have that registered every year. To get your boats in and out of the water, you need a crane or a forklift, which most marinas have. As for the type of boat, maybe look a J-80. They're pretty comfortable and there's plenty of room. (about 26 feet) Oh yes and maybe some sailing lessons...
