Are Eastern Block Countries Being Deluded By Joining NATO, Essentially A Tool Of The USA?

Since the US is in charge of NATO, any country joining NATO is going to be under US command. Afghanistan is a good point where an American war is being fought by "NATO" countries who have no real business or problems with the Afghan people. It needs a major rethink about what NATO is really for. Is it to fight American imperialist wars. And that is to be addressed.
