Chevy engine question?

Any Chevy V8 will bolt up. The rear seal may be different but that matters not. I really don't understand your problem with carburetor stuff. You can certainly put a carb on your truck and of course you will need an appropriate manifold but your computer controls will have problems. If you are trying to get more power, buy a 383 short block and put your top end on it. You can get one for around $2000 which is not bad for essentially a new motor.
